PanoPress 360° plugin

We recently added the plugin PanoPress to OPTe DESIGNER (Genius or Enterprise Plan) for featuring 360° panoramas, so if you’re interested in providing an immersive web experience for your visitors, PanoPress may just be the plugin you’ve been looking for.

Plugin Overview

Have you ever wanted to display 360° panoramas on your website? Then you might want to try out a third-party plugin called PanoPress.

The PanoPress plugin by Omer Calev and Sam Rohn adds a high level of immersion to your site by easily allowing you to feature 360° images and videos.

This plugin works with Flash, HTML5, and WebGL panoramas created by the majority of panorama applications. Here are some that you can use:

  • KRPano
  • Pano2VR
  • Kolor Panotour
  • Panotour Pro
  • Flash Panorama Player & Flashificator
  • PTGui
  • Saladoplayer

This awesome plugin even supports pre-built panoramas hosted on websites like:

  • 360Cities.net
  • ViewAt.org
  • TourWrist.com
  • GigaPan.com

Choose Platform

Getting the panorama onto your site is the easy part. The hard part is actually creating the 360° panorama!

You can find plenty of tutorials online, but I wanted to share an awesome guide made by a professional photographer. Look for it down below.

Once you’ve created your own panorama or have chosen a pre-built option, you’ll be provided with assets that need to be loaded into your website via PanoPress.

If your site is on one of OPTe’s platforms, simply submit your assets to our support team and we will upload straight to your website.

PanoPress can be used in many ways on a wide variety of websites. One such way is by creating virtual tours!

Look how Sala Lodges, a hotel website on OPTe.NETWORK, used the PanoPress plugin to make it feel like you’re already there!

Installation, Tutorials, and Documentation

Find the PanoPress plugin in the WordPress repository and at the PanoPress website.

If your website is on OPTe, just go to the built-in library via your admin dashboard to activate this plugin.

Head on over to the WordPress repository to find everything you need to know about the PanoPress plugin, including instructions, tutorials, and a support forum.

And as promised, here’s one of the most in-depth guides on panoramas I’ve ever seen! Just in case you have no idea how to go about creating 360° images or videos, Arnaud Frich lays out the entire process. From choosing the right camera lens to using the Panotour Pro app to create a virtual tour.

We want to hear from you. Have you tried PanoPress? Let us know about your experience with it in the comments below.
